After our killer fundraiser last summer, we decided as a Young Women's Presidency that we would blow the dough on a trip to St. George. One of our young women had never been on a trip so it was especially exciting for her. ALL of the young women came...including one girl who hadn't been to an activity in over a year, as well as an investigator. Our first day, we had a morning devotional. Each leader spoke about living Happily Ever After. We used President Uchtdorf's talk he gave in last year's general YW meeting. It was fabulous. Lisa had a great object lesson for the girls. They had to make it to the temple (a picture at the end of the hall) by stepping on good choices they could make throughout their life. At the end we played the song, Happily Ever After by Jenny Phillips and gave each girl a CD. It was awesome. Included on the CD was all of the songs to the broadway version of The Little Mermaid. We were gearing the girls up to see it that night at Tuacahn!
After a waffle breakfast, we went to the St. George Temple visitors center. The girls learned all about what the saints had to go through to develop St. George and build a temple. A sister missionary walked us through the visitors center and bore testimony to the girls about how they can have their very own "Happily Ever After." It was so inspiring.
After the temple, we grabbed some hot dogs at Costco and hit the pool. After swimming for a few hours, we got ready for the show!
It was fabulous! The show was incredible and we all had a blast. The girls got a picture with Ariel and Prince Eric before we left. We hope that each girl got a feel for what Happily Ever After really means and how they can obtain it.
