Bearing the First Fruits of the Garden

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

Conner and I went to the Jordan River Temple yesterday...but it was closed. Since we were out and in need of some spiritual enlightenment, we decided drive out and see the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple. It was beautiful! We were lucky enough to be able to take a tour, even though we didn't have a ticket. It's style was a lot like that of the Draper Temple...so simple and yet so magnificent. When standing at the front of the Oquirrh Mountain Temple, you can see both the Jordan River and the Draper temples. It is quite the sight. I love the spirit we felt and am so excited to have yet another temple in the Salt Lake Valley. Interesting story...Angel Moroni atop the temple was hit by lightning during the last rainstorm. I like to think its just because he's so close to Heaven!

UP

After Conner's fever had broken and he was no longer contagious, we decided to take advantage of our day off. We went and saw UP in 3-D. It is our new favorite movie! We both cried believe it or not. It was the cutest show and sounds crazy, but it made us fall even deeper in love!

Swine Flu

Conner has officially been infected. He wasn't feeling very well when he came up to Youth Conference last Friday and I ended up putting him to bed early. When I went in to check on him a little later, he was on fire. Much to his dismay, I made him take off all the blankets and put a cool washcloth on his head. I loaded him up with Tylenol and we went to bed. The next day, Conner woke up with a piggy nose! The swine flu had got him! Conner had to miss three days of work while quarantined in our house. I was so sorry he felt sick, but it was so nice to spend some time together. The funny thing about all of this is that we couldn't stop in Mexico on our Cruise due to the Swine flu...so our vacation was ruined and Conner ended up getting the swine flu anyway!

Thanksgiving Point

We went to Thanksgiving Point for a picnic with Conner's Family this weekend. All of the flowers were beautiful. These are our cute nieces always wanting to stick together.

We thought we would try to re-create our engagement photo. We totally should have had the Batman t-shirt in our invitations!

Harper Reese Egbert

Conner and I have a new niece! Harper Reese Egbert was born June 2nd weighing in at 7 lb. 4 oz. and 20 inches long. Just as beautiful as her older sisters! Congratulations Cam and Tiff!

Temple Celebration

Conner and I recently had the opportunity to participate with the youth in our ward preparing for the Draper Temple Celebration. Conner practiced with the choir, and I learned the "farmer dance." Although the long hours were rough, they were worth it! Youth from seven different stakes in the Draper area were able to perform for the prophet and other general authorities. When the prophet walked into the Conference Center, someone started singing We Thank Thee Oh God For a Prophet. Soon everyone was singing and the spirit filled the room. It was incredible. The prophet spoke, we sang Happy Birthday to Elder Eyring, and the show began. The kids did such a great job and I was so impressed with how it all came together. Conner and I have been to the Draper temple a few times and we love it. Its small, quaint, and so beautiful. I love going to the temple. I always feel the spirit so strong. We are so lucky to live in the valley of temples. I know that I will be with my family forever and I can't think of anything more comforting.
I recently lost my first patient at the hosptial. I loved taking care of little Tori, and her family was so sweet. I am so glad that they are aware of the Plan of Salvation. I can't imagine losing someone thinking that you'll never see them again. I know that the church is true and that families are forever. How lucky we are to have that knowledge.

Philadelphia

We were able to go to Philadelphia and visit Shannon (Conner's sister) and her family. We had so much fun. We went boating on the Susquehanna River! It was beautiful. It was so fun to see how much the girls had grown. We loved spending time with them and, much to Jerrie Lee's dismay, were dubbed the BGE award. (Best Guests Ever)

Conner was awesome at wakeboarding. He stayed up forever! The best part of the boating trip was that Conner has decided that boating isn't so bad. This didn't stop him, however, from making fun of how I'm such a "knarly, wakeboarding, superchic!"

Our first 5K-the annual Kennett Run! Although I thought I might die from the humidity, I finished. And Conner was kind enough to walk by my side as I "ran".

The only place that you can get CORN icecream. It's pretty good with cinnamon on top! Thank you to the Castleton's for hosting an awesome trip!

We love having a garden and enjoy the time we spend together working in it...even though Conner tells me I need to weed more efficiently.

Eagles Concert

My dad was awesome enough to get us tickets to the Eagles concert a few weeks ago. It was great! Even though we don't know ALL their music, it was fun to hear their top hits and sing along like we're their number one fans!

Sometimes Conner has a tough time staying awake with speakers blasting in his ears.

BBQ With Friends

I have the best group of girlfriends in the world! Its always fun to get together and a few weeks ago, we met up for a barbeque. I wish it happened more often but everyone is so busy and their lives going all sorts of directions. It's so nice to be able to get together and catch up!
