Somehow I got a bum neck. It had been bugging me for a few weeks-just feeling tight and sore, but a few days before Thanksgiving, I woke up at three o' clock in the morning and couldn't hardly move. I tried going to the chiropractor where he tried "cupping," an ancient Asian method to help relieve muscle aches and pains. It was and interesting experience, but I'm not sure it helped much, cause I still spent a few nights sleeping on the living room floor like this...Conner was nice enough to camp out with me. What a wonderful husband I have.
Thanksgiving Day, I wasn't feeling any better, but I had to go to work. I somehow made it through half the day, then they were able to send me home since we had sent some patients home. I was so excited! I was going to make it to Thanksgiving dinner. We spent Thanksgiving with Conner's family this year, but I had to take a picture of my mom's pies. They are always so beautiful! We made it to finner just in time!
Carl and JoLene's family were able to join us. It was fun to have a few more people at the table since the rest of Conner's siblings are living out of state.
Post-Thanksgiving dinner nap. I did the same...just lying on the floor with a heat pad under my neck.
After dinner, we went to see Kylee and Eddie at the hospital. Baby Gemma was born!
Considering I started the day out at work, it ended up being a lovely Thanksgiving day. We have SO much to be thankful for!
The next day I went to insta-care since I hadn't been able to sleep for days. They took x-rays and referred me to the Spine Clinic at Tosh. They gave me steroids and exercises to stretch my neck. After a couple of days, the steroids made my heart race, made me feel hot all over, and apparently would also run the risk of increased appetite. I didn't need any of that so I just stuck to my exercises. 2 months later, my neck still bothers me occasionally, but I have full range of motion so I can't complain.
