Conner's Mom gave me this awesome old trunk. It belonged to Conner's great-great grandfather. I was so excited when she convinced Craig to let me have it...I can only imagine the stories that go along with this trunk. I would love to know all of the many wonderful places it has been, or the oceans it has crossed. Jerrie encouraged me to spruce it up a bit. I forgot to take a before picture, but it was a light wood inside with some fabric peeling off the sides. I ripped out all the fabric, stained the inside, and mod podged a vintage-looking collage on the inside cover.
I love the way it turned out. I think it looks like it might have looked back in its prime. I had never mod podged before, but after this project, I want to mod podge everything in my house.
Best of all, Craig really liked the final product. I'm glad I could make him happy, and also keep the true character of the trunk.

I am looking for a trunk... my friend has one with stuff from her grandparents etc... She gets it out for her children and tells them stories about each thing...
