Poor Suzie

Thursday night, I was traveling to Westminster from Primary Children's and I was in an accident. I had worked four days in a row and I was exhausted. My brain was fried so I turned the radio off and tried and clear my brain. I took a slight detour from my usual route in hopes that I might get to Conner's game a little sooner. As I approached the intersection of 2100 East and 1300 South, I noticed a car crusing up the road toward me. My light was green and I thought, "He's going pretty fast with a red light approaching." It wasn't until I entered the intersection, that I knew he wasn't going to stop. I tried to gun it so that he wouldn't completely T-bone me. Instead, he hit the back passenger side spinning me 360 degrees into oncoming traffic. Luckily for me, no one was on the road at the time. He came running over to make sure I was all right and was apologizing profusely. After quickly checking all my body systems, I knew I was okay and I said a quick prayer thanking Heavenly Father that I hadn't been seriously hurt. A man from the gas station on the corner ran over and made sure everyone was okay and said that the police were on their way. I walked around to the other side of my car and examined the damage. It was bad. I started crying...for my car. I called my mom to tell her what happened. I don't know what it is about talking to my mom at times like these, but I broke into hysterics. She was extremely worried of course until I reassured her that I was fine, I was just so sad for my car. Conner's brother, Chase, drove up from the game to help out. My car was out of commission and I was definitely going to need a ride. The police came and sorted out the details. Turns out the lost soul that caused the accident had 3 DUI's, a revoked license, and had just crashed his roommate's car...who conveniently doesn't have car insurance. Chase was so nice to stay with me and provide some moral support as well as insurance expertise. Long story short, my car was towed to the collision center and his car was impounded; I have a small bruise on my side but otherwise have a clean bill of health. We are still waiting on Suzie's diagnosis but it's not looking good. I love that car. We are praying for her. But more importantly, thanking Heavenly Father that I am in one piece. I could have been seriously injured and I only ended up with a little bruise and a slightly sore neck. (Conner thinks I'm overreacting anyway) I am now driving a Kia Rio from Hertz which Conner thinks is ridiculous but it gets me where I need to be. If it turns out that we do have to buy a new car, maybe we'll look into a Kia! Conner won his game by the way.
