I was lucky enough to have SIX baby showers planned for me and baby McCrae. The first shower was hosted by a couple of my good work friends-Andrea and Alison. I was able to share the baby shower with another friend from work, Andrea Sorenson, who was due just a few weeks ahead of me. Going to my first baby shower was crazy. I felt like I was pretending… I had to keep asking myself if I was really going to have a baby. It's something that we had wanted for so long, it seemed hard to believe that it was really happening.
Andrea Sorenson and me.
I love shower food! The shower was so much fun and so many good friends from work came. I love my job and the cute girls I work with.
The next shower was given by Kathy Wilson and Karla Jenkins. This would be an old 16th ward shower. I couldn't wait!
Karla, me, Vickie, and Kathy
The display was beautiful...
And it was so much fun to see old friends and catch up.Everyone was so generous! I was starting quite the collection of baby apparel!
I couldn't wait for the baby shower hosted by my best high school friends. Jen made this invitation and it was darling!
Lisa hosted the shower at her mom's house. It was a darling cowboy theme and the food was phenomenal. The company was even better. I love these girls more than they will ever know. I am so incredibly happy that we have stayed so close over the years. I feel like I have grown to love them so much more in the recent years as we have all gone our separate ways. Although life has taken us different places, we have never been able to relate to one another better!
The Nielsen shower! I think this one was planned very first. Jerrie was so excited to get it on the calendar! Once again, a beautiful invitation...
This shower was BY FAR the most well-attended. I couldn't believe the support from the Nielsen clan. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, no one loves family time more than the Nielsens!
The gifts were incredible. I received so many items of my registry that I desperately needed.
Conner came for the meet and greet at the end. Everyone seemed so genuinely happy for us. It was starting to feel like this was really happening.
Next, a couple of my good friends from our ward threw a darling Peter Rabbit themed party. Thanks to the book request at the bottom of the invite, McCrae ended up with an entire library by the end of the night. What a fabulous idea! Thanks to Cristina and Lindsey and so many others who contributed.
Lindsey and me. She has served as my young women's secretary for the past 2 years. She is so incredibly generous and talented in so many ways!
Last, but not least, Aunt Holli threw a beautiful family shower just 12 days before McCrae was due. When we put it on the calendar, we were worried that it might be cutting it close... but by the time the shower day arrived, I was worried he might stay inside my tummy til October... he was showing no signs of coming anytime soon!
This darling display had my mom in tears the second we walked in. Those cute little cowboy boots were her little brother Bart's. He passed away from leukemia when he was only 4 years old. It was pretty special.
Cute Grammy always the life of the party.
More cowboy food! It was all so delicious.
Grandma Egbert. So glad she could make it...even though she told me that she brought me, not only my birthday gift (since the shower was the day after my birthday), but a WEDDING gift as well. Oh she's too funny.
So glad to have my very favorite Speechly cousins there!
Sammy and Amy
They all went to such hard work. The shower was so much fun and I received such fabulous things. Most of all, I loved the company. I missed my sisters terribly, but was glad to have Heather and Tiffany there to represent the Egbert girls. Bring on the baby!
