Newport Beach

Our Newport trip came and went WAY too fast this year! We had so much fun, as always.
Jami, Danielle, and myself.
Conner loved helping the kids make sand castles.

Our attempt at a nice beach picture.
Conner hated every picture we took; he insisted on putting on a shirt. We just couldn't get a serious shot since he was making such a big deal out of the whole thing.

Playing the favorite beach baseball game.

Jami convinced me to go running with her a couple mornings we were there. We thought it was pretty funny that we just happen to have coordinating outfits.
Each morning the boys woke up early to catch the waves. After our run, I went down to the beach to snap some shots.
Conner, Dave, Chase and Doug.

They had to be sure to steer clear of the surfer dudes.
Wipe out!

Of course he approved of this picture...
We made the annual trip to Balboa Island...just because we needed more donuts!
This bird washed ashore one day.
We knew something was wrong because it was having a hard time moving.

Some hot shot ran over and trapped the bird with his towel. "What does he think he's going to do?!" I asked myself. Surprisingly enough, he and two other guys found that the bird was tangled in fishing line. Hot Shot whipped out his pocket knife and cut the bird free.
It was awesome.
Conner thought it was fun to try a new hairdo every day. Everyone thought he was crazy but the kids got a kick out of it.
Sophie was stung by a jellyfish!
Ouch! She was so brave. I quoted Finding Nemo and said, "Whoa Sophie...takin' on the jellies!" She thought that was pretty funny and perked up rather quickly after Aunt Audrey rubbed lavendar oil on the sting. Who knew? Lavender oil...(there is a white mark right in the middle of her foot where the jelly stung).
Our morning pit stop. Conner and I vowed we wouldn't have any. We gave in on day three.
This one we called Wolverine. Corbin wanted the same do.
Just a little dance party following Emperor's New Groove.
Sad to see it end. We're already counting down the days til next year! We are so lucky to be able to go on this trip every year. Thanks to Grandma Carol and Craig and Jerrie for allowing this great family tradition to continue every year!
