That night we went to the Stadium of Fire. It is always such an inspiring show. Last year's American Idol winner, Scotty McCreery, put on quite a show.
Everyone was decked out in red, white, and blue. I love the unity that Independence brings!
The Beach Boys were next and they were surprisingly entertaining. I can't believe how many songs we knew the words to. They were old, but I think they would have sung all night if they could have.
Thanks mom and dad for taking us. It was incredible.
Concert junkies, Uncle Brent and Aunt Holli. We LOVE having them join us!
We just happened to spot Elder Uchtdorf in the crowd. Although Conner thought it was inappropriate, I snapped a picture of my favorite apostle!
I wish I had an outfit to rival the patriotism of this one!
Apparently, it was a long night.
That weekend we drove down to Ephraim to join Conner's family for a little camping trip. Conner and I missed the first day because we both had to work. Fortunately for us, that was the day they all had to come down off the mountain becuase of a terrible rainstorm. Ava accompanied me on my first Rhino ride. It was fun to have a few toys up there-we were sure glad the Big Show rented them to share with us.
Conner took some time to play with Corbin and "his guys"
Conner seized the opportunity to relieve himself wherever he pleased. (After all, its allowed when you're camping, right?)
This is the view atop Pantyhose Ridge. Craig told us a great story of how this ridge got its nick-name. When Craig and Jerrie were in high school, he took her on a Sunday drive up the mountain. They got stuck in the snow and stayed in the truck together all night to stay warm until someone came to find them. Jerrie tied her pantyhose to a tree in hopes that their rescuers would see their trail. They were rescued early the next morning. They claim "nothing happened" that night they spent together all alone in the truck...sounds kinda sketchy if you ask me!
Conner's cousins were nice enough to share their horses so we went for a little ride over to Salamander Pond.
I had to get a picture of Corbin in his awesome helmet. He was so cute!
It was a great Fourth of July all around. I am so glad we have a day to remember how lucky we are to live in this country. I couldn't feel more blessed!
