I'm not sure if we are too old for Easter baskets, but we do it anyway. Conner's was loaded with energy treats for his upcoming race, and the Easter Bunny brought me a specialty soap from Lush...a fun soap store at the new City Creek Center.
Conner spoke in church that morning and he did such a fantastic job. He made reference to Elder Bednar's talk in this month's Ensign. He spoke of the enabling power that the Atonement gives us. Not only does the atonement allow us to repent, it gives us the power to get through our every day struggles. It definitely shed new light on the miracle of the Atonement. Conner had two special guests in the audience that day; Donna and Teri came all the way from Australia to hear his talk (or were conveniently in town). These two ladies were a couple of his favorite women while he was on his mission. They were a bit tired after all the travel and, after complimenting Conner on a job well done, said they were headed home for a "nanna nap." They informed me that they would be back the next evening for a "good feed" since they had given Conner so many feeds in Australia. They were darling and we were so glad they came.
I love Easter Sunday and the chance we have to celebrate the life and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is such a happy day. I love knowing that just as Jesus Christ was resurrected, we too will be resurrected and have the opportunity to live with Him again.
When we got home from church we decided to get festive and dye some eggs.
We then went up to my parents for Easter dinner. Julianne and Garrett surprised us all and drove up from St. George to join us.
Let the 2012 egg war begin!
My Dad's egg was raw!
After dinner, the kids went on an Easter egg hunt. Conner and I were a little jealous that Grammy didn't have a basket for us to gather eggs...so I just decided to take pictures.
And Conner and Garrett tried hitting us with the marshmellow launcher...
Dylan's pants were making us all laugh. I guess all she ever wants to wear these days is leggings.
Baby #4 on the way! Boy or girl? They won't find out til he/she arrives!
After an incredible Easter feast, an egg hunt, and award-winning carrot cake, we headed home. It was a fabulous holiday. We were so happy to spend it with so many people we love.
