Birthday and Baseball

Our cute niece, Sammi, hosted an incredible birthday celebration for all of the August birthdays on the Nielsen side of the family. She was in charge of everything-the invitations, birthday cake, birthday waltz instruction and party favors. It truly was an evening to remember.
We each received a diploma of advancement into the next year of life. This is the diploma and our official dance cards.

Thanks Sammi...It was one heck of a party!
The morning of August 6th, I woke up to a pile of birthday presents.

Then Conner made me breakfast. Egg burritos-YUM!
I then got to practice using my new camera at Conner's triple-header.
He chose to be #35 in honor of his favorite Yankee pitcher, Mike Mussina.
His batting average was more impressive than Derek Jeter's.
He outshone Mark Texeira on first base.

And he hit a home run in honor of the birthday girl!

It was a great day. I received loads of birthday messages, went to lunch and shopping with my Mom and sisters, and Conner took me to a romantic dinner at Hires Big H that night (he had reservations at Tuscany but I wanted a burger!) Thanks to everyone who helped make my day so special.

Oh Happy Birthday girl!!! I'm glad it was a great day! And well, sometimes a burger is better than a 5 star restaurant. Although I've been to Tuscany and it is pretty dang good!
