Easter Weekend

After a long, hard day at work, I called Conner and whined the whole way home. He lovingly told me that he would heat up some leftovers and dinner would be ready when I got home...little did I know that he had an even better plan. When I walked in, this beautiful boquet of roses and lillies was waiting for me-an early Easter gift! The lights were dimmed, candles were radiating a heavenly glow, soft music was playing and our wedding video was playing in the distance...how romantic. I was so happy. Of course I started crying, probably making Conner think that I was angry that my dinner wasn't ready (I get pretty grumpy when I'm hungry). It was all so lovely. It was an excellent way to start off our Easter weekend.
The Easter bunny showed up for Conner on Sunday and even left footprints in the trail of flour we left in order to catch him! Conner got new underwear and a mechanical chicken that lays gumball eggs...not quite as romantic as my Easter gift!
After a wonderful day at church remembering Christ's resurrection, we headed up to my parents for Easter dinner. It was delicious! My mom really outdid herself this time. She made homemade carrot cake. It tasted incredible! We even got to participate in an Easter egg hunt. I guess you can never get too old for the egg-citement of a good hunt! We loved it! Julianne was upset because I had about twelve eggs right off the bat and she only had three...you would have thought we were five years old. Conner and I came out on top with three dollars and tons of Reese's eggs. I hope we get to participate in the big kids hunt next year!
Lastly, we ended the night with our favorite movie, Lonesome Dove. We have been trying to find a time for my family to watch it and we stole a couple hours on Sunday. Not sure how they like it yet-my dad questioned the appropriateness of stealing horses from Mexicans and sleeping with whores...we'll see how round two goes!
